Very nice small campground on the Henry River. Campground was clean and well taken care of. The owners were always onsite and working on the grounds. Very friendly and safe environment with a gate at the entrance. All sites are very roomy and graveled. All sites were level. Activities, such as bingo, pot luck dinner, and hay rides were planned during our stay. Get directions before trying to find this campground. GPS is incorrect on this location. We highly recommend this campground and will return when we are in this area again.
Raccoon Holler Campground is a very nice family owned campground. This resort is clean and well taken care of. Bath houses were very clean. The staff are beyond friendly and make sure that you are enjoying yourselves. The staff keeps the rules enforced 24/7. All paved roads, spacious sites, quiet country settings, well stocked store, and gated. A very safe place for children to ride bikes and play. The owners are always here working. We will definitely return. There are not many campgrounds left that have such high standards, for the 25.00 nightly rate. Great place.
We stayed here Labor Day weekend, and needless to say, the resort was awesome. The activities for the children were endless. Yogi, Cindy, Boo-Boo, and the Ranger characters were out all the time with the children. The resort had staff/employee's everywhere. Our site was across from the pool. A little tight, but we knew that when we made reservations. The only negative comments would be that they charge extra for everything: cable, water slide, putt-putt, inner tubes, and most children activities. The resort was very clean and well taken care of. We will return again when in the area. If you have children, this is a great family campground.
Staff was very friendly. All facilities were extra clean. A little pricey, but, the shuttle is free to Carowinds. Regular parking at the park is $10.00 each day. So, that offsets the camping rate. The lodge has the best discount tickets available for Carowinds. Children under 48" tall are required to have on a life vests in the pool. This is negotiable after talking to the life guard. Pull thru sites are lacking grass, but all other sites have grass. Very nice campground. We will return to Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort. Call ahead for directions, the campground direction signs are missing near the end.
Stayed at Lake Myers RV Resort over Memorial Day weekend. The campground has everything to offer to children for having fun. The facilities were clean. Paid for a premium site, but when I arrived, they gave me a pull through site where my awning would not extend. After pulling forward, I had to settle with the awning two feet from the back of another fifth wheel. Staff was present, but would make no adjustments in swapping for a vacant site across the road. After paying full price, only one pool was open, and only one water slide open. The pool was not heated; big disappointment. Campground is mainly full of seasonal and full time sites. The campground is overcrowded with noisy golf carts, gas & electric. We will try this campground one more time to see if it improves any.
Very nice campground. 5 Star rating to us! Staff were very friendly. Strict rules such as speed limits, pets, and golf cart rules enforced. Concrete patios on all sites, fire rings, neatly trimmed grass, and clean facilities. This should be the standard for all campgrounds. Even the wireless internet was free. You can tell that the owners of this campground aim to please. Highly recommend this resort.
This was the highest priced campground that we have ever stayed at. The campground was kept clean and landscaped. It is located near the battle field and attractions. The only thing that they did not charge extra for was the pools, which are only four feet deep. There is an interstate that goes right beside of the campsites and is very loud. The staff were somewhat friendly. Golf carts are every where. And with gravel roads, the dust is bad. At $62 dollars a night, I think we will try other campgrounds in the area.
Outstanding campground. Very friendly staff. All facilities were clean and orderly. Level sites. The shuttle to Hershey Park was outstanding. Always on time and the drivers were very friendly. The pools were clean and always had several life guards posted. I saw no golf carts in this quite campground to run you over. The freight train does pass by on the upper sites, but we stayed in the lower section and never really noticed it. Nice camp store and discount theme park tickets. I highly recommend this campground to any family wanting a nice place to stay.
The campground has a lot of seasonal sites, but keep them separated from weekender's. The grounds are kept very clean. Bath houses are clean. Staff members are outstanding. The pool is very nice. Sites are level and have all paved roads. The security gate at the main entry is great. I would rate higher, but the amount of golf carts and traffic within the campground is extreme. Roaming staff keeps order in the park and enforce rules posted. Activities for children are always taking place.
